Jim Johnson is a KCBS master barbecue teacher, and highly decorated barbecue pitmaster, having won 76 Grand Championships during his 28-year competition career. Jim finished first in every category at the coveted Memphis in in May World Championship Barbecue on four occasions, and has finished in the top ten nine times. Jim has taught students across North America and Europe how to cook competition-grade barbecue.
During this 4 hour class, you'll learn some of the barbecue basics, including choosing the right meat, equipment and fuel. You'll also learn some of the tips and tricks that helped Jim have such a successful competition barbecue career. You'll also learn how to cook the four KCBS competition meats (chicken, pork ribs, pork (Boston butt), and brisket), how to prep competition boxes, manage your timelines and impress the judges.
